From Airport to Amsterdam

A:‘’Hi, what do you do?’’

I:‘’Nothing, sitting at home’’

A:‘’Do you want to come to Amsterdam?’’

I:‘’Why not!?’’

That's how my adventure started, in 3 days, I packed my suitcase left my job, my apartment, even my cat, and moved to Amsterdam, and it turned in 3-year adventure.

In this story I will tell you all I have learned about the city and country, about traveling, trams, buses, bikes, trains, ticket purchasing. Where, how and why? All about moving, apartments, rooms, online platforms, black market, which includes trusting people and learning them. About night life, drinking habits, drugs, street life, documentation, dealing, with doctors, taxes, insurance and much more.

After two months my friend returned back home, but I wanted to explore city and I stayed. Everything I will tell you is the way I did and experienced doing all on my own.

Today I will tell you how to get from Airport to Amsterdam.

From Eindhoven airport to Eindhoven train station

I arrived in Eindhoven withWizazairairlines. The best option, buyticketin the airport from kiosk seller. I learned this at my third and last flight with Wizzair, but I can advise you this asbestoption, lines outside are much longer and ticket machine don’t accept paper money, you need to put your coins one by one and find where to put them and which buttons to press. After exitingairportyou just need to continue walking straight, in two minutes you will be bybusstation. When you have a ticket from kiosk seller you can jumpinthe bus 400 or 401, inhalfhour they will take you to their last stop, train station.

TIP: When you buy a ticket in the train station, pay attention how you pronounce the word. it happens a lot when chaser instead of Amsterdam hears Rotterdam. I guess it’s because theyhavedifferent dialect.

Bus transfer Eindhoven-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Eindhoven

Before I always used bus transfer. I though it's very quick and simple, hops in the bus and in less than two hours I was in Airport. But one time it happened that I had to wait 20 minutes for the bus. When bus driver arrived he was surprised that there were only two of us waiting for 200 hundred seater bus. It was hard to make conversation with him because he spoke, german-dutch something language. He arranged for us smaller bus and meanwhile tried chit-chat with us. He liked to talk about weed, after he told a funny poem about smoking weed he was the only one ho laughed. I will addlinkwhere to order ticket. But if you go from Amsterdam, tickets are sold in Blue boat tour kiosk next to CS which is also bus departure place.

Schiphol Airport- Amsterdam

I always took Red bus, number 197. It goes to Leidseplein but I went out by first tram stop which wold take me home. I guess it's also easier because forbusyou can buyticketbybusdriver or in tourist season time by kiosk guy just next to bus stop. If you like to use train, you need to buy ticket from ticket machine (Big,yellow, GVB print on it)

Good to know : In all airports, mobile service promoters give for free sim cards. If you see Lycamobile, take it. This one gives best deals calling abroad.
