First Night Out!!!

On Thursday 1st September my housemate and I wanted to see what the nightlife was like in Alicante on a weekday. So we got dressed up and walked aimlessly down towards the city centre just waiting to see what bar/club would take our fancy. We were approached by a female rep within seconds of walking and she said her club was doing an off of 1 large mixer for 4€. Now I am no novice when it comes to negotiating alcohol prices but the rep wouldn't budge. Despite 4€ being very cheap by England's standards we were looking for something a little bit more substantial, so we kept walking.

Another female rep approached us and told us that we could get a Mojito/Mixer in a large 2L container for only 5€ or a Mojito/Mixer in a large 1L container and a free shot. What can I say? We were hooked! We followed the rep to the bar where we were poured our very strong and acoholic beverages then we sat down and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. There was music playing and at first the bar was quite empty as it had only hit midnight.

A gentleman with wristbands soon approached us and spoke to us in english explaining this big club that was open that night. He gave us a wristband each, for free, then gave us general directions for how to find the club. My housemate and I thought this is perfect.. we finally have a plan for where to go tonight! I then asked what time it was open so that I could find out how much time we had to finish our 1L container of alcohol before making our way to the club. The man replied that it wasn't open until 3am!

My housemate and I looked at each other and laughed! In England all the clubs close at 3! So we had to get used to the time difference and find some way to occupy our time for the next 3 hours. The bar started to get busy as the time went by.

At about half 1 in the morning we met this group of spanish people who were very friendly and invited us to a Salsa club. How could we say no? We went there with the help of our new spanish friends leading the way. Once we arrived we enjoyed the Salsa music all throughout the night until 3am. But because we had started our night very early it was too exhausting to continue dancing in another club. So we decided to go for another night out the next night and vowed to do better and stay later.

We ended the evening with a cheeky trip to KFC on the way home which by some miracle was still open at half three in the morning on a Thursday. Stay tuned for the second night out.
