What is it like to live in Adelaide? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Adelaide is a small city that is becoming more and more developed with exciting new venues and activities to experience. It has beautiful beaches and friendly people. Great food and bars. The Adelaide Hills also has some beautiful scenery where you may see Kangaroos!!!
You must also experience river life during the summer. A large Australian summer thing is going to the river with friends with a ski boat, enjoying a bbq by the bank and enjoying watersports for the day!

How much does it cost to live in Adelaide?

You can expect around $150-$200 worth of food and leisure spending per week if you are not on a tight budget. It is certainly possible to spend less than this though and live comfortably and enjoyably.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Adelaide? Is there any advice you can give?

Adelaide is a small city but is large in terms of it's suburbs. Not everything happens in the city centre.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The range of fresh food available in Australia is vast - you won't be disappointed by food over here.

What places would you recommend visiting in Adelaide?

Barossa Valley is the major wine region just an hour out of Adelaide. The beaches are beautiful as well as the more southern coastal region including Maslins Beach, Victor Harbour, Middleton (main surfing destinations). Kangaroo Island is also just a ferry ride from the coast of South Australia. In the city great places include The Parade,

Is it good to eat out in Adelaide? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Food is fantastic in Adelaide. A lot of new bars have been popping up including rooftop locations with great food and drinks. 2KW is very popular in the city for a great rooftop location.

Is the nightlife good in Adelaide? Where is good to go?

Hindley Street is the major street for nightlife in Adelaide. Sunday nights are best at The Moseley in Glenelg though. Casablala, just off Hindley Street in the city, is also an awesome place to get a drink and have a dance!

The most exciting time to visit Adelaide is definitely in March!! The Fringe Festival brings the entire city to life with amazing one off events. Streets are filled with people, music, colour and art. It's the second largest Fringe Festival in the world, so would recommend visiting during this time - it's also summertime.

What advice would you give future students heading to Adelaide?

Make sure your time in Adelaide includes being there during March - it will make your experience all the more better. Summer time in Adelaide is best.
