What is it like to live in Zagreb? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is small - under 1 million people - and full of parks. It is not crowded and transportation is generally good. For everybody you can find something, good bars, restaurants, museums, historical monuments.

Zagreb is relatively inexpensive and nightlife is good, during the winter is boring, but over the spring and summer there are a lot of festivals and concerts.

I live in Zagreb, so for me it is OK.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Zagreb? Is there any advice you can give?

Apartments are expensive.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Excellent, we have our traditional food (varies in every part of Croatia) but during last few years there are a lot of new restaurants that offer a new style of food and everybody can find something for their taste. Our cuisine is mainly Mediterranean, a lot of influences from Austria, Hungary and Turkey. I love every Croatian dish.

What places would you recommend visiting in Zagreb?

Technical Museum, Museum of Broken Relationship, Old Upper Town, Cathedral, Maksimir Park, mountains near Zagreb (Sljeme), there is an old fortress build for the nobility to escape from the Turks.

Excellent. Restaurants like "Nokturno", in the straight center of Zagreb, "Burgeraj", "Wok by Matija", "Kapuciner"... A lot.

In the center "History", "Lemon", "Thalia", "VIP", "Katran" and bars like "Alcatraz", "Buzz", "Mojo"... There are a lot of places.

Keep with the local students, they will tell you where to go and take you to good places.
