Why did you choose to go to Zagreb, Croatia?

To get to know further cultures and live in an eastern European country. I also wanted to go to a place where I could afford to live comfortably with not that much money.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

One year. I received 1700 € for the whole year.

What is the student lifestyle like in Zagreb?

Since it's a medium sized city, it's more calm than in others, but you have plenty of options to get entertained.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Zagreb to other students?

Yes, definitely.

What is the food like?

Nice, good variety, fish and vegetables. Restaurant prices are usually very low for great quality.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Zagreb?

Not at all. There are several real state agencies directed to students.

How much does it cost to live in Zagreb?

Around 250-300€ per month with utilities and food included.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Croatian language is hard but everyone can understand English. And it's always funny trying to learn some words or expressions so as to use them in the stores or with friends in university. Yes, there are language courses offered.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zagreb from your city?

Easiest, by plane, but since the airport is not that big and don't have many connections, flights are usually expensive so you can figure out cheaper ways to reach Zagreb such as via Budapest airport and then train.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Zagreb?

To Tkalciceva street.

"Capuciner", "Nokturno", "Mundoaka".

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The cathedral, the upper city, the central square...
