Generally, what is Yasar University like?

Yasar University is a private university in İzmir. I can say that it is the best one in İzmir when we compare with other private universities in terms of quality of education, transportation, location of the campus, etc. Its campus does not look like a university but it is like a holiday village. It has not a big campus so you can easily get used to any part of it.

What are the facilities like?

Campus is really good located and easy to reach. It is pretty new, so most of the equipment is working well. Almost everything was thought and built to feed needs. Just in front of the campus there is a metro line therefore we can say there is no difficulty about this.

What are the tutors like?

Most of the tutors are helpful and friendly. They are always ready to help and talk on any issues. At least I can say it for my professors, for sure.

Are the lessons easy in Yasar University?

In my department lessons are a little bit compulsory, time to time. But generally, course materials are enough to have necessary knowledge and enough to pass courses. When you have these materials and if you take notes during the lecture, then there will be no obstacle to pass the lessons.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

My university organise generally seminars, symposium or workshop types. You can join them whenever you want. They announce them on billboards or in the website of university. Time to time, you can have certification because of you attended those activities. Additionally, for an Erasmus student we have an ESN Yasar group that organise different types of activities even Christmas parties or even cultural trips.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

I think that the quality of teaching is really good. As far as I know except a Law Faculty, all other departments go in English efficiently. There are also some other modern languages that you can choose in the university which are also good.

Are there any stories you can share?

Most of my stories about university are good. Just I had a problem, actually not just me but also other students, about scholarship. They changed the conditions of getting scholarship which is not fair in my point of view. That's why many students lost their scholarships with me. It was the just bad story that I have about the university. It absolutely hit the hardest.
