22 year old looking for accommodation in Wellington

Hi everybody, my name is Kilian, I come from Bordeaux (France --> therefore I apologize in advance for my English mistakes ;))
I will be in Wellington from June 21 to November 20 (internship at Victoria University). I'm looking for an accommodation if possible not too far from the Victoria University
I'm a curious person, not really shy. I'm looking for roommates because I want to meet new people, know a new culture, perfect my English level etc..
I do not know the NZ at all so I will probably have many questions about what to do, what to visit etc...
Nb : I'm a smoker but I can of course smoke outside
