Sun and Sand
Let's try to imagine something... West side, sea, vacation and so much free time for exploring.
Where to go? Well... a bit closer to your location because you're (again, me) kind of alone and it's not funny at all to go with new people that you don't have things in common, barely knew each other, don't know what to laugh about - it's not a chat meeting, it is just a "let me chill with you moment" - but this is my case, I'm pretty odd when comes sharing my mind with other people than my friends.
And my answer is - to Viareggio or to Lido di Camaiore. But of course, besides Marina di Pisa or Tirrenia, these two cities are close, nice and friendly with activities along the beach, shops, restaurants, (an exhibition room that I'll talk about it later) and so on.
And, I hope you will choose to come at least one weekend - pure curiosity - to see if it's just as I said or I write down my dreams...
Viareggio
At about 20 minutes by train or by bus (only the blue one, beware of color! ), there is no difference between buses and trains if we talk about the time; also the price is very good, pretty cheap.
It is located in the north of Pisa, on the west coast, it is not a very large city, but you can get lost very easily! Believe me, I was close. So many streets; quite like a labyrinth...
You see everywhere beautiful buildings, big and old churches, green spaces and free beaches!
Basically, the first two elements are found everywhere, but we cannot just neglect them and write on a separate list.
Many plants! This helps visually a lot and colorfully harmonizes the city. I don't think there is any house or villa in Viareggio without a decorative tree, some large plants or flowers in at least two colors. You have a white ball for that!
Tip: For those who enjoy the beauty of the city, Viareggio hosts the largest panoramic wheel in Italy by October! This is a brand new wheel built this year, high about 50 meters, and shareable with more than 190 people!
This is the harbor, very important for this area.
Art moment
I found a "gallery room" where was an exhibition held in, and I found it very interesting because it was in the middle of all the shops you can imagine along the seaside.
There were paintings of local artists or artists that came from close cities or region... I felt very good among modern art paintings; full of different concepts, interesting, modern artwork, and modern ideas!
I hadn't left the gallery without buying something and, of course, I took two catalogues; the gentleman there also gave me some leaflets, magazines with the works of the artists (those exhibited and many others) and made me a discount! Talking about luck...

Also, you can spend your time embraced by nature in their biggest park, full of everything your soul as child can imagine! It's relaxing, quiet and green; believe me, is better than a fresh because it makes you feel fresh.
I chose a bicycle (actually it had four wheels, like a bi-bicycle, haha) but it was funny to see the park while riding it. One hour was enough to take an off road trip!
Moreover, while losing around, I saw a very nice building with an interesting architecture. Its name is related to these two statements: "Itinerary of modernist architectures" and "The Bishop of mercy".
It is said that this building is a significant example of ceramic decoration and architectural scores that are complemented by the exaltation of the monumental poster rich in exemplary elements. Also the particular richness of the façade and determined by the profusion of neo-renaissance, neo-gothic and oriental elements that blend with admirable equilibrium and make this building a unique construction in Viareggio.
In the immediate vicinity, crossing a bridge, we pass into Lido di Camaiore, a much more attractive as a resort than a locality. You can easily get there with a blue bus that leaves you on the beach side. It's easier than that!
Here the beaches are private, very well arranged, everything lined, very clean and the list goes on... But the point is that we managed to go to Lido di Camaiore to the beach and it was extraordinary; the sea was quiet, fine sand, the sea was clean, no algae, no nothing!... just some shells brought to seashore, but these were quite good - this time I refrained and I didn't take anything home!
