What is it like to live in Versailles? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

If you like history, beautiful architecture and small cities I would say it is a lovely place.
The only thing is that there are not many parties or activities for students.

What is the student lifestyle like in Versailles?

It is nice if you are in a big group and do things together, but in general there are not so many events or student parties. It is also much easier to find out what to do if you speak French. In many places they don't speak English.

How much does it cost to live in Versailles?

The restaurants are not cheap. There is one corner where you can find some bars and a creperie (in the marketplace) that is cheap and has very nice crepe :).
The supermarket and all the stuff cost more or less like in Paris. In the university of Versailles you find more cheap options for eating and coffee.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Versailles? Is there any advice you can give?

The main accommodations we found were recommended by our school and was in a family house. I would recommend to ask in advance if you can apply for the CAF staying at this place.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is very nice, everywhere you can eat well.

What places would you recommend visiting in Versailles?

The castle of course, the gardens of the castle, the main square (marketplace) with the food market (has a lot of nice different stuff) and Paris that is not so far :)

Is it good to eat out in Versailles? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

The creperie in the main square and Lebanese restaurants. (I am so sorry that I am very bad with names)

Is the nightlife good in Versailles? Where is good to go?

No it is not good unfortunately. Everything happens in the main square (marketplace). You can go to a club called La Moliere also close to the castle. I would advise to go out in Paris because there you can find more options.
