Here is one of the treasures of the Mediterranean sea. For many centuries it was the setting of intense battles but nowadays it acts as a tourist destination point. Its geostrategic situation caused many people to settle in Malta. The influence of different cultures is noticeable in its food, in the language and also in the architecture that still stands today. Now, a walk through some places that you must visit on this island:

1. La Valletta

Accessible via bus and a ten minute walk. These are the essential things to know in order to arrive at this place. When you reach the high part of the path, you should stop for a bit to take in the view: you can see all of the rock formation. A lot of tourists ignore these views and go straight to the pier at the end of the path.

Here, you can ride a small boat that will lead you to the interior of the caves. The boatman will encourage you to swim for a few minutes in the crystalline waters. Do not jump from the boat until you are told to so. If you do not do it, he will will tell you something like... it this one of those caves where they captured one of the largest sharks of the Mediterranean. Wait, is that true?
