Experience in University of Pretoria, South Africa by Nikolas
Generally, what is University of Pretoria like?
The university is amazing. Very picturesque and almost in the center of the city. The main campus (Hatfield) is very large and has a running route as well as several gardens and scenic places to relax.
What are the facilities like?
The facilities are very well kept! There are numerous computer labs and printing places you can go to work in. The are many restaurants on campus that are inexpensive.
What are the tutors like?
The tutors are very friendly and open. However, they have set times they can help because they too are students and occasionally it clashes with a lesson
Are the lessons easy in University of Pretoria?
The lessons are done differently from subject to subject but the lessons are mostly 50 minutes long and 3-4 times a week. The lecturers have office hours if you didn't understand something or if you need clarification on a topic. The lecturer also doesn't mind re-explaining in class.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
Yes they do and it all depends on where you are for example the residences organise their own socials and meetings and activities.. whereas another society for students who only spend the day organises things for them
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Yes.
