Experience in University of Patras, Greece by natasa
Generally, what is University of Patras like?
It is a very cosy and friendly place that you can spend your time drinking coffee and attending the lectures! It has many trees and caffeterias. It has also a restaurant for students that is free and you can taste greek traditional dishes.
What are the facilities like?
It has lab and computer facilities but they are different from foreign universities. Technology is not the focal point of my university, but the teachers makes you feel like home. The most important thing is that you learn many useful things for your career.
What are the tutors like?
Basicaly, when we need help we just contact the teacher and we don't really need a tutor because we don't have projects and the courses are not so complex.
Are the lessons easy in University of Patras?
They are kinda easy only for students that attend the classes every day, but you should definitely study before exams otherwise you will not pass.
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
It is not organising many activities and that is one of its disadvantages.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Many teachers are really good and to the point, but there are always exceptions.
Are there any stories you can share?
When I went on Erasmus in the Netherlands my horizons were expanded and I saw how many things are different and 'old' in my university in Patras, but the truth is that there is't any other like it. I realised that I love it just the way it is.
