Experience at the University of Provence Aix-Marseille I, France
Overall, what is the University of Aix-Marseille like?
Aix-Marseille University is generally a good university, however it mostly depends on the subjects one studies.
What are the buildings like?
The buildings can be very nice, like the faculty of law in Aix and the faculty of sciences/arts in Marseille, or very old and run down, like the faculty of Arts and Humanities in Aix.
What about the professors?
Aix-Marseille is a rather reputable academic institution, the teaching staff is good, and as I have said, it depends on the faculty and on the subjects, one can have better or worse luck when it comes to the professors.
Is it easy to pass classes/exams at the University of Provence Aix-Marseille I?
Not necessarily, within certain subjects the level is very low. within others the teachers are very tough and mark harshly.
Does the University organise any activities? If so, what are they like?
I don't attend many activities organised by the university.
Do the courses seem to be good quality?
Generally, yes.
Do you have any anecdotes you would like to share?
If you decide to come to Aix-Marseille University, don't be discouraged by administrative problems that may arise, it is hard and very annoying at times but it happens in every university.
