Discovering another culture in Viterbo

I spent 5 months in Viterbo state university. Unfortunately my mobilty was during Corona Pandemic when Italy was under the lockdown and I had to quarantine for about two months but after the lockdown i really enjoyed staying in Italy. University was so supportive during this hard time, I had online classes and online exams too. Viterbo is small city but you can really enjoy your stay here. City is very old with fascinating architecutre and termal waters and narrow steets. Italian cuisine is amazing. You can eat the best pizza in Monastero Pizzeria and spend a great time. Prices are quite normal, you can go to the shopping in Ipecpop,Lidl and other stores which are really close to the dormitory. Living in a dormitory is a great experience too. Rooms are very comfortable and cozy with private toilet room, you will enjoy staying here because you will have contacts with different nationalities and will share your cultural views.Viterbo is really close to Rome, you can use train to go there, price is 5 Euros. If you are going to stay in Viterbo you should visit Bolsena, Bracciano lake. You will definitely spend great time here.

Hey Zezva, I am planning on going to Viterbo in March for an exchange semester, so probably during the ongoing pandemic as well.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Was it hard to connect to other Erasmus and non-Erasmus students? I already looked on facebook for Erasmus student groups, but could not find any. How did you get to know more people, as everything was online?
Thank you in advance and have a nice evening!
    Best wishes, Lisa

    Hello Lisa,
I lived in a dormitory and it was easy to communicate with other students. I think you can’t find any groups because we used WhatsApp groups. Your coordinator will create one when you arrive in Viterbo and it will be very easy to have contact with other students. Don’t worry, you will make a lot of friends in Italy.
    Kind regards,
    Zezva.

Hey, just one more quick question: In which dormitory did you live? The one they send in the application form or a different one?:D
    Cheers, Lisa

Hey! I have a question: did you have classes in English? Do you know Italian? If no was it hard to communicate without it? Best regards :)

  • flag-ge Zezva Zviadadze 3 years ago

You can choose the subjects which are taught in English You will have Italian classes too so it will not be hard to communicate with people.
