How is the Università per Stranieri di Siena in general?

The University for Foreigners of Siena is one of those universities that makes you feel at home. The teachers and all of the staff are really helpful by trying to satisfy all your requests and to solve any various problems that arise during the course of our studies. In general I can say that this university, also having to contribute to the improvement of my language skills, has helped me to grow and to be more responsible, to ponder my choices and to be able to discern between the various opportunities that have occurred.

How are the services?

The services are good. Given the increasing number of freshmen, unfortunately the classrooms are always full; the secretary works not so often there are many trainees who cannot solve the problems, but you can just send an email to [email protected] and in a matter of no time all the concerns are resolved.

And the teachers?

There are few faculties within Unistrasi, precisely because the primary objective of the University is to offer the student the opportunity to concentrate and "specialise" in a specific sector. This does not mean that there are few choices, indeed Unistrasi has many agreements with both Italian and European universities; a few but indispensable are those with universities in China, Japan, Latin America and Australia.

Are the lessons at the University for Foreigners of Siena easy?

Passing the exams easily has now become a kind of prerogative that the student imposes before embarking on a university career. Exams are not easily passed without having studied, and in Unistrasi the study is compulsory not only to pass the exams but also for personal development. Everything we study and learn is useful for the purpose of our working future. There is no "useless" exam, precisely because the aim is to give a general aspect on all subjects, which will then be expanded on if you choose to continue with the Master's degree.

Does the university organise activities? If so, how are they?

The University for Foreigners is the place where different cultures meet and come together, exchanging ideas and improving intercultural relations. For this reason, the University tries to make everyone feel at home and through the organization of events, concerts, events, travel possibilities, it pleases everyone in the best possible way.

Do you think that the teaching is of high quality?

The teachers of Unistrasi are excellent and to confirm it are the data that come directly from newspapers, websites and TV. Unistrasi together with the University of Siena welcomes professors with excellent qualities and experts in the subject. They are not only teachers, but men or women who have made a university course equal to each individual student, knowing how to recognise themselves for their skills and trying to pass them on to all students.

Do you have any advise to tell?

To confirm how much the teachers are available and at hand I would like to share this experience. During a course of Institution and Management of Cultural Heritage the teacher decided to take us to Rome to admire the Roman wonders that history has left us. The most obvious choice would have been to take a train or a bus, instead he decided to go all together with his car. To organise ourselves we created a group on whatsapp, where every day we looked for more details. During the trip by car the teacher looked like a guide, a father, a friend of ours. Although the course is over, we still have the group on whatsapp where every now and then the teacher talks about our plans, how we are and how our life is progressing. This episode contains what is synonymous with Unistrasi - family.
