Experience in University of Milan, Italy by Jessica
Generally, what is University of Milan like?
It is fun, lively and interesting, but also very focused.
What are the facilities like?
The buildings are nice, and the libraries are good. There are also excellent sports facilities but unfortunately they are quite far out of the city centre!
What are the tutors like?
They are mostly nice and approachable, especially with international students.
Are the lessons easy in University of Milan?
It depends - I have so far found them quite easy, but it requires a lot of self-motivation. You basically just have to show up to lectures and then do an exam at the end of the semester. Not helpful if you're lazy like me... but I managed it!
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
I have found the ESN and the sports society to be very good. Other than that, activities are pretty thin on the ground unfortunately, which is disappointing - but then, this is Milan, and there is always something happening outside the university.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
It seems to be, I feel that I have learned a lot already, even if the system can be a bit disorganised! The range of courses in particular is outstanding, so if you come across a course that is badly taught it is fairly easy to switch.
Are there any stories you can share?
It's Milan, there are always stories to tell...
