Experience in University of Messina, Italy by Antonio
Generally, what is University of Messina like?
The University of Messina is a great university. Unfortunately with many problems with respecto to the organization... In the last years, it's slowing down, but Erasmus people that are coming are received by the local ESN. This, from my personal point of view, is not organised and estructured well enough, and the same happens with the accommodation. In fact, more Erasmus students usted to complain about the high cost of the apartments and the few services included.
What are the facilities like?
Students houses are far away from the city center and public transport is totally out of service.
What are the tutors like?
About university tutors it depends on the faculty, which now are divided in different departments. Regarding my ex university (Faculty of Political Science), there is an absence of a good tutorship and the students are left alone without any language support. About the international office, they are very kind and welcoming and high professional, especially Mrs La Rosa, but they have to face with totally inefficient situations of the University and the Council.
Are the lessons easy in University of Messina?
More or less.
Does the University organize activities; what are they like?
Not very often.
Do you think the teaching is of a high quality?
It depends on the faculty we consider.
Are there any stories you can share?
I prefer not to talk about any of them.
