Experience in University of Cologne, Germany by Andrea

Generally, what is University of Cologne like?

Multicultural and friendly university where you can perfectly combine your studies with a good free time, because Cologne is the city of young people and all possibilities of activities you can think of.

What are the facilities like?

They are in progress to restore the buildings and make them more comfortable for the students. Nevertheless, there is sometimes less space for the great number of students and some machines/material to use for your studies are just too old for our modern times.

What are the tutors like?

They all are referring to the standards of education. Some of them better than others, but all in all they are doing a really good job.

Are the lessons easy in University of Cologne?

I can only speak about my studies in medicine... They are really difficult and not easy at all. You have to work hard, then you will make it.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Mostly the representatives of the students organize such events, otherwise there wouldn't be that much. But our representatives do a great job. We have a Christmas meeting, summer barbecues and other little parties or markets to get books for your studies/material cheaper.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

I think it is. Definitely! However, if you don't do anything, you will not pass any exam.
