The past in the Museum of Vasterbotten

In the Museum of Vasterbotten there is a continuous exhibition of many objects, pictures and models about the history of the region from 10000 years ago.

There are 3 exhibitions rooms that shows the human life in the region, form the hunting and fishing settlements and reindeer herders along the emerge of the culture.

The museum has objrects from the Neolithic age, reindeer herding and Sami culture objects from the middle Ages and from the 1st settlers in 1600’s due to a government policy of colonization.
