One of the symbols of Umea as the European Capital of Culture 2014 is the Glass House 2014. It is located in the City Hall Square, in the centre of Umea downtown, just at the site of the statue of the Standing Man.

This building is a cube that measures 5. 5m per side and whose walls are made of glass. The Glass House is equipped with projectors, microphones and sound eaquipment.

This place was built to do cultural activities by all the cultural associations of Umea, together with all the organisations, municipalities and associations and clubs in the region, as well as other European Capitals of Culture and Umeå's sister cities, which wanted. Each week of the year, one of this associations is responsible for present their activities.

Therefore, during all the time I have been here I have seen many different cultural activities. One of which most impact me was when I saw a live horse inside it. Another day, an entire chore was inside this building singing.
