There are 4 airports near Stockholm that can be used by you or your family or friends to go to Umea: Arlanda, Skavsta, Vasteras and Bromma. Arlanda is the main airport and have the best connection with Umea, although it is not very close to the capital and you have to take a bus of 1 h to go there. It has several combinations each day with Norwegian or SAS airlines which usually cost around 40-60 €. Skvasta and Vasteras are the only airports where Ryanair lands, although they are far away form the city and you have to change airport to come to Umea, so it is not vey rentable unless you find a really cheap flight. Finally, Bromma is an airport that is almost inside the city. It has flights to Umea with Malmo Aviation with not very high prices.
