My experience at Bordeaux Montaigne University (Pessac), France, by Emilie

What was Bordeaux Montaigne University like in general?

The university is a 'students only' zone, so it feels like a campus. It's easy to find and get around even though it's quite big.

What is the local surroundings like?

The locals tend to be a bit older (at first glance, I'd say around 70). I'd recommend wrapping up in winter because the classes are held in rooms with large windows at street level.

Is it easy to be successful at the university?

If you work regularly and plan things well then yes, you can be successful. If you look at the whole school year calendar in June then you're setting yourself up for a good year.

Are there events organised by the university? If yes, what do they organise?

You can do almost any sport. Registration costs 20€ and the class/training is always held at the end of the day so that as many people as possible can take part.

Are the classes taught to a high standard?

Like any other uni, the quality of the class depends on the lecturer. I would suggest that you attend all of the classes that interest you in the first week of term and then decide.
