Generally, what is Universidad de Alcalá de Henares like?

I lived in Alcalá de Henares for 3 years, while doing my degree there, and it was one of the best decisions in my life. The city is lovely, there are so many things to do there any day and night, and you're close to Madrid (40 mins by train), so it is easy to go there from time to time.

The city is very international and the people are very welcoming. I am not an Erasmus student myself, but I am from Valencia, so I didn't know anyone when I got there. Also since the lessons I took were in English, I got to meet many international students.

I'd definitely encourage anyone from anywhere to come to Alcalá.

What are the facilities like?

I attended the Economics faculty in the city center, where you can also find the Law and Philosophy within a 10/15 minutes walking distance (they all are different buildings).

What are the tutors like?

In the Economics faculty, there are quite a few subjects in English, so the teachers know the basics of the language (some better than others).

Everything depends on the teacher you have, but the classes, in general, are easy to follow if you're focused.

Are the lessons easy in Universidad de Alcalá de Henares?

I studied International Business and Economics, which is not an easy degree in the field of economics. I'd say that if you study hard you can pass, but you gotta work hard in order to do so, they're not gonna pass you with the minimum effort. Also, in most of the subjects, attendance is very important in order to pass the class (usually participation and attendance represents 20% of the final mark)

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

The university had the ESN program, and they organize different activities and parties.

Anyway, there's always something to do in Alcalá, especially at night.
