Experience in Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany by Charan
Generally, what is Chemnitz University of Technology like?
Introduction of English taught courses, a huge variety of progrmans, international environment and research focus.
What are the facilities like?
Research facilities, lab equipments, huge library. Some class rooms are very big which accomodates more than 200 students.
What are the tutors like?
Some tutors are not that impressive. But I have no comments on professors, due to their excellence in the field.
Are the lessons easy in Chemnitz University of Technology?
Presentations are updated every semester, exercises and questionnaire would be there for most of tbe modules. They could have made presentations much more better, but overall I give a 7/10
Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?
Yes infact the University offers many such as Excursions, industrial visits, career programs, sport events and many more. There are many events for a get together with local germans and international folks.
Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?
Some modules have excellent standards with up to date research content in respective areas and few modules lack proper organisation which might be a problem for some students.
Are there any stories you can share?
Self study is a must in case of micro and nano systems and from my perspective, one can not expect to have a degree within two years (sometimes possible but the chances are very rare). The course in general is a multidisplinary which means a student has huge range of carrer oppurtunities.
But the course is a challenging and interesting. This course would be for people who are interested in nanotechnology, semiconductor tenchnolgy, fabrication of chips, sensor industries and many more
