Tallinn - True Entreprenural and Youth City
Hello everyone, I hope that you are all doing just fine!
In this article, I want to tell you about how is it to live in Tallinn,
Tallinn is a wonderful city . I would definitely recommend it as it is very international city to live in. We have somewhat stunning architecture, free public transport (if you are a resident here), relatively and somewhat safe city (low crime rate; it is actually great and secure), great food - what could a guest more want in Tallinn?
Tallinn is not as big as you might thing, but we are a VERY modern city and I would say that multicultural one as well. Please keep in mind that we are post soviet town so please be not amazed if there might be some racial slurs, but all the positivity will wip that away.
The best part of Tallinn of course is, the old town . It is different from most of the old towns you have ever visited, because we have an amazing identity what you might not see in anywhere.
Is it expensive to live in Tallinn?
You can manage easily with 200-300 EUR for your expenses without counting Accommodation. It might be somewhat difficult to find a good place to live in but univeristies offer a relatively cheap price residence (100 euros per month, which is really good) and flats go around 200-400 euros. It all depends on the rooms and location. I have to tell you and please keep in mind that our minimum wage is 420 euros and middle class wage is 1100 euros so we are not that expensive city to live in. Alcohol is REALLY cheap.
- To eat out cheap, go to McDonald's, Hesburger (which is alternative to McDonalds, created by the Finns), Subway or any Kebab. Is the nightlife good in Tallinn? Where is it okay to go?
Nightclubs in the old town:
- Studio
- Hollywood
- Prive
There are more, but these are the best!
Pubs to drink a lot, good and cheap:
- Shooters (10 shots for 10 EUR)
- Labor (drinking from medicine tube)
- Nimeta (sports bar, literally translated "No name")
- NB ! These 3 sites are located next to each other and this area is called the Bermuda Triangle because normally if you enter, the party is so crazy that you get lost in one of them. Be careful!
What would I advice you with?
Try to learn Estonian , at least a little! Estonians appreciate that internationals speak their language a lot!
Soon I will publish even more about Estonians!
