What is it like to live in Trnava? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Trnava is kind of small-big size town, where you can find everything what you need. You can get everywhere by foot and almost impossible to get lost there. Trnava is also, called a little ROME, because there is lot of churches and catedrals. Althoug Trnava is middle size city, you can find there all types of services. The town is devided into 2 parts, the city centra surounded with medieval-age walls, there are located most of the services, shops, pubs and so on. The other part is surounding of the historical city centre, there is, to be honest, no much to see.
What is the student lifestyle like in Trnava?
Student life in Trnava is nice, I would say. Teachers are kindly to forein studets, and people are very open to help with anything.
How much does it cost to live in Trnava?
Student dorm from 50-80€ a month. Taxi is like 2,5€ all around the city. It is difficult to spend more than 12€ for food a day. Menu in regular restaurant (soup+main dish) is around 5€, but you can find even lower price. In strees you can get a kebab/doner for something like 2€.Beer is less than 1,5€. You can spirits for 2,5€ and less. Entries for parties are usually free, if not is about 2€.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Trnava? Is there any advice you can give?
Is easy to get accommodation there, if you are coming under Erasmus program. Usually your university arange it for you, so you do not have to find it on your own. Also accomodations are located no more than 10 minutes from campuses.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
In my opinion there is nothing too different from the other countries. However, there is a national dish Bryndzové halušky/ Potatoe dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon.
What places would you recommend visiting in Trnava?
To visit some catedrals, take photo from the town tower, see a show in the main theatre.
Is it good to eat out in Trnava? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
There is one typical restaurant, where you can try some local dishes it is called "Polovnícka reštaurácia".
Is the nightlife good in Trnava? Where is good to go?
Nightlife is very wild, you can visit lots of pubs and clubs to have fun. The biggest parties take place usually on Tuesday and Friday. For erasmus students is very easy to find a during a party, because local girls are excited about forein guys. If you want to have fun, you can have it everyday, because is cheap place to live.If you get bores of Trnava, you can visit your capital Bratislava, which is only couple minutes away.
