The coast of the Gulf of Trieste, otherwise called Miramare, is one of my favorite places where I don't take account of time.
This place is magic: the weather is very changeable there and no one may predict it. But the real magic starts before weather worsens when the sky is full of big, abnormal clouds and cold wind is blowing them with a very high speed. During that time some people can hear strange sounds from old stones of the Miramare castle, songs of the sea waves and mysterious figures made by clouds in the sky… The most important thing is to connect fantasy and imagination… and to believe that the Earth is living and is speaking to us by using a special glass of the nature. I think Miramare is the perfect place to connect our spirit to the nature, to meditate and to hear how Universe is speaking to us.
I still remember how mesmerized I was when I saw the Miramare castle and its wonderful surroundings for the first time. I fell in love immediately with this enchanting place. The Miramare castle is situated on top of a hill having amazing green surroundings and a height that gives an opportunity to watch the expanses of the Adriatic Sea. The water in the sea is so clean that one can easily see fish shoals swimming up from the water. From the back, the castle is surrounded by a magnificent tropical park where anyone can relax after a hard working day. Beautiful castle and delightful scenery can not overshadow the sadness of the tragic love story between Ferdinand Maximilian (the younger brother of Franz Joseph which became the emperor of Austria at that time) and his Queen Charlotte of Belgium.
Sometimes, I think how romantic is to get lost here one day in order to be forced to take shelter in the harbour of Grignano that belongs to Miramare coast.
