Week 5

I'd hit halfway. This was the last week before I headed back to the UK to surprise my Dad as an early birthday present (I know, how sweet), and to do Halloween at home (Halloween is one of my favourite times of year and I have to spend it). My good friend, Cathy, came from home for a nice break from full-time work, and I was able to act as tour guide once again.

Whilst she came, she spent a lot of time chilling outside, since the UK is pretty much showers and wind from September onwards, whereas Toulouse is gorgeously sunny and bright for most of Autumn. We visited the Église Notre-Dame du Taur, the Basilique Saint-Sernin, the Musée Saint-Raymond, the Jardin des Plantes de Toulouse at the Musée d'histoire naturelle, the Passerelle Viguerie, the Canal de Brienne, and other places like the local markets, cafés and bars, before she headed back to the world of work in the big city.

Toulouse's restaurant discoveries continued with all the girls heading to Meet The Meat. Meet The Meat is pretty much one of the best meals you'll have in your life - go for the salmon, it's incredible. If you're a meat eater though, don't ask for it well done or you'll get judgement (the French don't do well done).

Week 6

Heading home and the things you miss being away.
