Experience in University of Szeged, Hungary by Anna
Generally, what is University of Szeged like?
When I think of the Uni, the first thing I can think of is the variegation of it. The university buildings are not in the same place, so if you have two different classes you have to walk a little from one to the other and while you're walking, you can see the beauty of the city, you can hear different languages on the streets, because of the Erasmus students and tourist, etc. Lots of students come here from abroad because the tuition price is really cheap and the education quality is really good. The University of Szeged is one of the best universities in Europe.
What are the facilities like?
It is a really good equipped university with new labors and stuff.
What are the tutors like?
The tutors are really smart, mostly professors with really high degrees. They are very open and helpful, also if they don't see you trying or 'wanting to know more' they can be sometimes cruel. So if you come here, you should come here because you really want to study.
Are the lessons easy in University of Szeged?
The lessons are not easy, they are pretty hard because the tutors are very strict. Usually, you have to study for every class cause if you don't, you can easily fail.
Does the University organize activities; what are they like?
The uni organizes concerts, parties, sports days, championships, competitions, traveling. We usually have concerts every week 2-3 times following parties which are organized exactly for your faculty, for you these concerts are free, for outsiders it's usually around 3 euros. We have good Dj-s, good clubs so it's worth to pay also. If you're not a party person you can also go to drama club, you can play football, basket, etc. It's easy to join teams in the dormitories. If you live in an apartment you can also ask for joining a dorm team, not a problem. There are courses which allow you to travel and study at the same time, for example, you can go to Greece and get credits for it, you can go canoeing for the weekend, etc.
Do you think the teaching is of high quality?
Yes. Definitely.
Are there any stories you can share?
There are plenty of stories, but I prefer saying that don't come here if you don't like to study, cause it is going to be hard for you, and you will not enjoy your time here. But if you are willing to study hard the science program is really good, and I can say that this is the place for you.
