Napfényfürdő Aquapolis

Szeged is one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in Hungary. It is located quite close to both Serbian and Romanian borders, so in case you are in Belgrade or in Timisoara it is definitely worthy to pay a visit as it is closer from these cities than it is from Budapest. :)

There are many attractions in the city both indoor and outdoor (rather during summer...) but for me - as a person who loves water - one of the best places there is Aquapolis. We spent there an amazing half day even though it was in April and the weather was quite cold. Therefore we could only enjoy the inside part of the complex for most of the time...

However twice we went outside to enjoy the parts which are outdoor. Through a closed glass corridor you can go to the outdoor swimming pools which were already in function (they might be all year around...). The water was warm, especially compared to the temperature of the air, and we could enjoy an entire 25 m swimming pool on our own as there were hardly anyone else except us. Oh yes, the safeguard was there as well but out of the water. There is also one pool with warm thermal water which is located at the edge of the building and is divided in indoor and outdoor parts. You can also find several slides and adventure pools in the open-air area but obviously in April they were all closed... Good reason to return back during summer though! :)

Although we could use only the indoor part, we weren't lack of anything. We tried various slides, among which my favourite was the "onion". It is the slide which ends in a shape of onion and you are slowing down by making rounds inside the "onion" and then at the end you are just dropped in the water softly :) 

There are both recreational and leisure ambients inside the complex as well, with jacuzzi and sauna which doesn't miss. And when the moment comes and you feel hungry you can sit and rest at the self-service restaurant on the top floor. They also had a screen there and as it was Sunday, they were showing the Formula 1 Grand Prix. I think they also should show football or other sport matches on that screen. Just imagine yourself in a weekend, being in the pools all the day and watching football during lunch break... isn't this a good life? :) They have some (to be honest) very simple but good meal and beer there! Just don't except more from a beach bar/restaurant!

The full ticket costs 10 EUR on weekdays and 15 EUR on weekends.
