Erasmus 19/20 Lituania (Šiauliai )

• · How did you choose to study in Šiauliai State College?

It was the most striking fate I had.

• · How did you arrive?

 By plane to Vilnuis and from here with a bus to Šiauliai

• · What was the first impression?

 At first I felt lost and I was very afraid because when I arrived at the airport I didn’t even have Roaming and I didn’t have any information to reach my destination, but I arrived the next day.

• · How were your studies?

All right, I’ve spent everything with a lot of effort but with very good score.

• · Did you like your teachers? Did you like your lectures? Why or why not? Who was your favourite teacher?

 I did like the teachers. I had two and they are both magnificent. I only had class with Kaklaukas and he explains great in English, a fairly fluent command of vocabulary, which you might have trouble with if you’re not fluent in English. Both teachers were great.

• · What was the most exciting thing about your studies at Šiauliai State College? 

 Getting to know culture and people

• · What did you do during your free time? 

 Travel and go out to see the city and the country.

• · Did you have time to travel around Lithuania and Europe? If yes, where did you go?  

 I really had just the time. I got organized well and went to see Warsaw-Praghe-Giessen-Kaunas-Trakai-Riga-Oslo-Gdansk and Copenhagen and of course Šiauliai.

• · How would you describe your whole Erasmus+ experience? 

 It was more positive than I expected

• · Could you write several positive and negative things? 

Positive, a country rich in culture, history and gastronomy. All I have to say is that the place where you live is expensive for the conditions you have as they seem a little regrettable to me. Unsafe and sincere people do not take care of the common areas (common areas only kitchen and showers as they do not even have a living room to live together or a simple dining room).

The administration of Erasmus at the College has helped me a lot with my Learning Agreement at all times.

2. Life in Šiauliai city. What the article should include: 

• · What was the first impression when you came to Šiauliai?

 I really liked what I was seeing since it was what I assumed.

• · Was it easy to come to Šiauliai? 

 Yes. A student helped us from the bus station to the residence. Plus you always have to get lost at first a little to be able to find you later.

• · Do you like the city?  Yes it’s nice place.
• · What do you think about activities that are held in Šiauliai?

 In my opinion they close everything too soon, so you can barely make plans at night.

• · What is your favourite spot / location / object in the city? 
• · Could you describe 5 locations and objects that are most interesting to you?

Kryziu Kalnas, Bulevar de Šiauliai, Lake Talkša, Humana and of course the local food restaurants, have a great price (only open during the day unfortunately).

• · Could you tell 5 features about Šiauliai city? What do you think about Šiauliai city as a whole? 

 Ancient, Soviet, natural, pure, dark

• · What kind of changes does the city need? 

More restaurants

• · What kind of activities do we need?  Have more relationship with erasmus people and teach us Lithuanian without the need to teach. I missed a pavilion to play soccer hall. The residence should have the possibility to have individual rooms at a reasonable price. We already pay twice as much as the local people, so it’s unfair that they make us pay four times to have this option.
