Surabaya is a never sleep city. It is the second metropolitan city in Indonesia which provides anything you need. You can carry on your study there as well as carry out business. I recommend you to explore surabaya rather than Jakarta due to its potential chances.
But, you will find gridlock in many points there unfortunately. It becomes main issue nowadays.
What is the student lifestyle like in Surabaya?
Students in Surabaya are friendly, they're not selfish. Students there like spending their time by following many communities and clubs instead of staying at home or doing party.
Most of students in Surabaya come from different cities, they live in lodgings and boardings.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Surabaya's foods are totally yummy. I love gado-gado and sate so much. You will find ao many uniques foods there that you won't find them in other cities.

Surubaya will give you many options to eat. You can choose to eat in a cozy, glamour, modest and homey places

Before you go to Surabaya, you have to learn about culture and religion in order to figure out people in Surabaya because Surabaya is known as city with diversity.
