SL card is the card you use to get in the different transport in Stockholm. As I told you you can take train, bus, metro, tramway and boat, all inside the same card and much cheaper than a single ticket. I will tell you about the best and the different options you have.
You can buy a card for one day, if you decide visit the city for a short time. Other option is buy a card for three days, it cost about 20 euros for adults and 12 for people under twenty. Monthly card is also a very good option, and if you are student you can get it paying 490 SEK.
The option I recommend for Erasmus people and for those will be in Stockholm for a long time is the three months SL card. It is 1350 SEK, around 150 euros, but also is very useful and practical.
Do not lose your card because just the card cost 20 SEK and it is better to save money, and more in Stockholm.
