I want to find a house NOW!

You can think it doesn’t, but generally the weather is very good.

Hello!!

Southend-On-Sea is located in the county of Essex (one of the worst places of England with respect to the English pronunciation. It’s like going to Andalusia to learn Spanish). It’s a coastal town and, generally, the weather is good. It hardly ever rains (in comparison with the rest of the cities in England).

I was living in Southend-On-Sea for a year, and I can say that it’s a little town. It takes 45m. by train to reach London. It’s a good place if you want to study or if you want to work. It’s like living in “Cuenca” in case we were talking about Madrid.

You’ve all the advantages of living near a big city. You can go to concerts, you’re near the airports, etc.

You can go to Southend by bus X30 from London-Stansted. This route is direct and the Return Ticket costs 12 pounds roughly.

There is a street in which there are Orly shops (high Street). You can find there several shopping centres. Although living in England is more expensive than living in Spain, there are shops like Lidl and TK-Max, so you can live well, without any kind of poverty!

Going to parties in Shouthend can be a little bit chaotic... If you like easy and noisy English music, it’ll be your perfect destination. However, if you are looking for variety, you’ll have to go to Rayleigh or Basilon… The places where Depeche Mode or Prodigy were born… ;) There might be a reason for that!

Food is good because of the variety offered by the immigrant families’ restaurants. It’s very colorful! There are many Indian restaurants (as in the rest of England). There is also a Polish restaurant, some Spanish and some Italian restaurants too.

There is a cinema in the Victoria Shopping centre (in High Street), and there are also several theatres (i think). I haven’t been there.

To sum up, I felt good living there. I was learning English, travelling when I could, going to all the concerts I could in London, and going out almost every weekend in London… so… I prefer to live in a quiet, well connected and little coastal town, than living in a city so crazy as London.

I hope that this information will be useful for you!

And, well, if you go to any city of England during the summer, you can’t avoid visiting the “Boot-Sales”, where you can find authentical bargains. Things that you can’t even imagine! ;) And you also have to taste the BURGER sauce! Soooooooo goooood!
