Why did you choose to go to Sintra, Portugal?
I came here for my 6 month internship at Penha Longa resort.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
6 months, my salary is quite low (250€). But with proper management I can make it through the month
What is the student lifestyle like in Sintra?
Sintra is a historic town with only some small cafés and small restaurants.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Sintra to other students?
About the university I am not sure, because I've never been there. But the town of Sintra itself is beautiful.
How much does it cost to live in Sintra?
The accommodation that I live in now costs 200€, with everything included.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Its pretty easy if you're willing to learn.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Sintra from your city?
By bus, ticket is 2. 25 for one way. But there's a monthly pass that you can take which I think is around 20-30 euros
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Sintra?
There's nothing in Sinatra, so I recommend to go to the nearest town called Cascais which is full of life
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The whole town is a big monument!
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Sintra in the future?
Bring summer clothes, its really hot! And Sintra is windy as well because of the mountains. most of the time early in the morning its very foggy.
