Project Assistant

HI-COM Shanghai is a fast-growing, dynamic agency providing translation, localization, interpreting and copywriting services to companies worldwide.

Our Shanghai headquarters is the central hub for providing translation services for the whole of the East and South East Asia region. In the past year alone, we have translated over five million words to and from Chinese, French, English, Japanese and many others, covering over 35 language pairs.

We currently have an internship available for at least one candidate at our Shanghai office.

We believe our internship would provide a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in working in a foreign country. It would be ideal for students studying Mandarin, Translation, Business, or all three.

The main duties during the internship are as follows:

• Proofreading of English documents
• Mandarin to English translation (depending on the skills of the intern)
• Preparation of translation projects
• Writing articles for the company’s website and marketing material
• Optimizing the SEO status of the company’s website
• Administrative duties

The ideal intern for this position would possess the following qualities:

• English native speaker, with excellent English writing skills (essential)
• Student of Mandarin / Mandarin translation
• A fast learner with a positive attitude
• Comfortable with working in a fast-paced multicultural and multilingual environment.
