As Cancelas Shopping Center

When it’s raining in Santiago one of the main places to spend your free time could be the new shopping center "As Cancelas". It is brand new with more than 50, 800 square meters that are distributed throughout three floors and two underground parking areas.

It's in a great location as it's close to the center of Santiago and is situated in front of the path where pilgrims are making their way on the camino frances. You also have a great view of all of Santiago from the big glass windows on the third floor.

On the first floor, we can find the grocery store carefour, as well as other stores like C&A or lefties, all in all, there are more than forty prestigious store brands in As Cancelas. On the second floor we have Primark (the store where you can always find Erasmus students), Zara and a second C&A next to an H &M. On this floor there are also different areas where you will find couches that give massages for only 1 euro. If you’re hungry, the third floor is where you should go. On this floor you can find many places to eat, for example, Burger King, Brasa y Leña ( you can find octopus here but it’s pretty expensive; small is 5. 10). You can also find the movie theater and the second floor of Primark here.

• opticalia ( glasses)
• party fiesta (balloons, napkins, candy…. Or any other party themed objects)
• toner 10 (ink cartridges)
• Sport Zone and Decimas (sportswear)
• imaginarium ( children's toys)
• Berska, Pull and Bear, Shana, Orchestra and other clothing stores

There are also different areas to get food like: pans and company, muerde la pasta ( pasta buffet and other Italian food) which normally costs 13. 50 euros on weekends and 9. 50 euros on weekdays and holidays.

On the third floor there is also an area called “El Club de Ceci”, with workshops and activities for children. Here the kids can become members and receive free gifts and a membership card. With this card, you will have access to different promotions, sales, birthday surprises, special discounts, and many more advantages. On the second floor, there is a small enclosure dedicated to the “festival of humor”, where comedians like; Rober Bodegas, Borja Sumozas, Sergio Pazos, and David Perdomo are hosted. You can find this festival every Saturday during the month of February at eight at night (20:00). On the 14th of February, Valentines Day, there is a special Saint Valentine's monologue.

Finally, another interesting offer that you can find in the shopping center is the store Nails Factory where you can gel nails for only 9. 90 euros. Gel nails consist of coating the natural nail with a varnish to make them grow. The store will also repair the gels, repair or put on new Acrylic nails, and offer manicures and pedicures for the same price. The manicure and pedicure seem expensive to me but the rest seems cheap.
