The best is the experience of discovering everything that the capiatl city has to offer this is a massive city more than 8 million people and there is always something to do. Yes I would recommend it as long as you follow your common sense and are careful with where you go.

Very active, full of different activities most of them for free or very cheap

How much does it cost to live in Santafé de Bogotá?

It depends is very expensive if you compare it with any other city in Colombia but off course quite cheap compared with Europe or most of north american big cities.

Some say Colombian food is a bit salty, I think I have to agree but tstill for not being recogniced at all worldwide it has a lot of different dishes worth trying it. Try the ajiaco.
