It is difficult to give an exact cost of how much things cost in El Salvador. For example, rent at the capital, San Salvador, can range from $200 a month all the way to $2000 or even more.

The prices on essential items will vary depending on the location you are living in and the place you shop at. For instance, in a larget city like Santa Tecla or San Salvador, items will be more expensive than in cities such as Sensuntepeque or Juayua.

Furthermore, if you shop at the local market, you will pay a lower price than in a supermarket.
