What is it like to live in Samarkand? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Since I was born in this city I can recommend to go there to live for long period of time. You can feel redifferent culture, language architecture and of course very Friendly  people. There you can feel history and enjoy from present life.

What is the student lifestyle like in Samarkand?

In Samarkand all students know how important studying hard for their future. That's why they spend most of their time to learn and to get more qualification. But they don't forget about social life and enjoying from being students.

How much does it cost to live in Samarkand?

Living cost in Samarkand, Uzbekistan is much more cheaper if we compare it with some other countries. It might cost around 300/400 euros per month with all expenses are included.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Samarkand? Is there any advice you can give?

Most of the local peopele in Samarkand can help with housing and accommodation in the city. Even easy going students can live in real uzbek families. Because local people are interested in laerning about other cultures and they want to learn more about your country, language and so on.

What is the difficult about food? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is one of the most interesting part of Uzbek Culture. At the moment I am in Europe and I really miss Uzbek national dishes. I cannot compare uzbek food and deshes with any other countries' since every country has its own traditions regarding food and meals. But I suppose that most people know about famous Samarkand BREAD and uzbek national PLOV and Lagman!!!

What places would you recommend visiting in Samarkand?

The city is amazing for itself with historical sites and very modern roads. So, I cannot suggest one particular place to visit. Just go and enjoy in Samarkand and if you have free time do not forget about going to other parts of Uzbekistan such as Tashkent. It is also wonderful City and you will really enjoy there. Most of the inhabitants of Uzbekistan can  communicate in Russian and English. So you will not feel difficulty in Uzbekistan while travelling and studying.

Is it good to eat out in Samarkand? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I like all in Uzbekistan and Samarkand. I can just recommend to try it for yourself.

Is the nightlife good in Samarkand? Where is good to go?

I think You can't find many night clubs and bars at night after 11 pm In Samarkand. Because, Uzbek culture and traditions don't allow night life like in Europe. However , you can find young people who want to enjoy somewhere all together after studies.

What advice would you give future students headed to Samarkand?

My simple advice is that just go to Uzbekistan, Samarkand and enjoy of being in this wonderful country. People are very nice with guests and you can get any help from them during your stay in Uzbekistan. Full four seasons give unforgettably experience and joy in the country. I want to say that just respect our culture and traditions and enjoy being there with the most welcomed people.
