Part-time Designer - Web and/or Graphic
(position for 16 hours week or as an internship)
The application of solar energy is growing rapidly worldwide. Solarplaza is a global solar news platform and leading organizer of high-level conferences and trade missions in this industry. We are looking for a young, hands-on and highly motivated designer to join our design team. This is a marvelous opportunity for an ambitious self-disciplined student or part-timer to join a dynamic, international company on a mission. Initially, the position is for a three month period. With proven success, we aim to extend this to a more sustainable position within our team.

Your role and everyday tasks
The Part-time Web & Graphic Designer is responsible for tasks relating to updating our event websites; helping out with our email marketing using HTML/CSS, the creation of graphic materials, the production and layout of event-related materials. As part of the Design team, you will contribute actively to the company’s global Marketing & Editorial campaigns.
Daily tasks will include:
- Web design: updating various websites with new event-related content, such as additions to the program, speaker line-up or additional practical information.
- Email marketing: involved in creating marketing emails using HTML/CSS.
- Graphic design - digital: designing web-banners and visuals for our websites, social posts, emails and newsletters worldwide. Your contributions will literally be seen across the globe.
- Graphic design - print: creating and updating layouts for documents such as event brochures, market reports or conference programs, which will be in the hands of hundreds of conference attendees and professionals.
Requirements:
- Available on short notice for two days a week, living in - or near - Rotterdam
- Proficiency in English (emphasis on spoken).
- Proficiency in other languages besides English will be a plus.
- Experience with working with web-platforms such as Squarespace or Wordpress
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite (like InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop)
- Concrete design experience will be a plus

Your availability is for about two days per week for three months.
