The Rosenheim Experience by Sabrina (Germany)
What is it like living in Rosenheim? Would you recommend this place to others? What is it like?
Living in and around Rosenheim makes it possible to engage in many outdoor activities: the mountains are near, Austria is just 35 km away and it takes only 10-20 minutes by car to see the many different lakes around here.
What is the student life in Rosenheim like?
There are not too many students here in comparison with other towns. Still, you can find many bars and restaurants in the centre. They are usually full of people if not overcrowded.
How expensive is it living in Rosenheim?
Rosenheim is relatively expensive but not as expensive as Munich. The accommodation prices are quite inflated, however.
Was it difficult finding a place to live in Rosenheim? Do you have any advice for other students coming to Rosenheim?
It is hard to rent a room right in the city centre. You’d better try outside of it but you need to keep in mind that there is no underground or suburban railway network, only buses. If you decide to go home at night, you might consider taking a taxi or riding a bike.
What is the food like? What are you favourite dishes?
There are many different Resturants and bistros, ranging from Italian to Indian and Thai ones, but you can also find traditional Bavarian inns, usually outside of Rosenheim.
What places are a must when visiting Rosenheim?
Max-Josephs-Platz, the former grounds of the national horticulture show.
Are there any good places to eat out in Rosenheim? Would you like to say something about your favourite spot?
L`Osteria, Stockhammer, Valentino.
Is night life in Rosenheim recommendable? What are the best places to party?
One Bar, Oskars, Espana, das Herbstfest.
