Well  today in this post I am going to talk about an amazing city which is called San Juan del Sur

Well if you are planning to visit Nicaragua you can not dismiss this amazing city (San Juan del Sur)

Well if you are arriving in Managua's international airport (only airport in Nicaragua) first of all you have to take a cab from the airport to mercado Israel Lewites (Israel Lewites Market) the taxy driver will charge you aroud 200 cordobas remember in Nicaragua you have always negotiate the price with the taxy driver before get into the cab otherwise you have the possibility of been ripped off (I am not saying that the taxy drivers are thieves but make sure to know the price before get in into the cab) (around 7 dollars) by you alone and around 300 cordobas for a group of 4 people (around 10 dollars)

Once you are in Mercado israel levites (Israel Lewites Market) you have to look for your right bus (you can ask for information to the taxy driver about where should go and if you do this he or she can leave you as near as possible from your right bus)

If you have decided that you are an adventure and you do not want to spend in a cab but you prefer to take bus in front of the airport there is a bus stop so there you can take your right bus (BECAREFUL Managua is not as dangerous as other central america cities but you have the possibility to be robbed or something worse) my advice is to take a cab but well getting back to the story you must buy a card to get into a bus which is 50 cordobas ( around 1.65 dollars) and you must reload your card (the passage fare is 2.50 cordobas per person) (around 8 cents dollar) so you must reload your card so if you are planning to not take a bus again in Managua i would recommend to not buy a card and instead pay 5 cordobas per person (around 16 cents) to some seller around the aerea they offer that service

Once you have taken the cab or the bus and you have arrived to the Israel Lewites Market and you are in the right lane for the bus just get into the bus you do not have to buy a ticket the bus assistant will go to your seat to charge you the trip fare during the trip. If someone is charging you before the bus has left the bus station make sure that person is the bus assistant or he or she works by the bus (becareful you can be ripped off) (by the way the bus you must take to go to San juan del sur is first going to RIVAS) so the bus you must take is the one heading to RIVAS

The trip until RIVAS takes around 4.30 hours so be patient (it is worthy the trip) the fare you must pay is not mor that 170 cordobas per person ( around 5.70 dollars) 

Once you have arrived in Rivas you have two options the first one and easiest one is to take a cab to San Juan del Sur remember to negotiate the price with the taxy driver before get into the cab (the maximum price you have to pay is 200 cordobas (around  7 dollars) if you are traveling alone but if you are travelling with your friends or your family 350 for a group of 4 people)

But if you like adventure and you do not want to take a cab you can take a shuttle from Rivas bus station to San Juan del Sur. This shuttle will charge you around 50 cordobas per person (around 1.70 dollars) and it will take around one hour and a half hours to get to San Juan del sur bay otherwise if you took a cab this will take around 45 minutes to get to San Juan del Sur bay)

Once you have arrived to San Juan del Sur bay the first that i would recommend you to do is to look for your accommodation (It is recommendable to book in a accommodation before your trip in all the cases otherwise you have the possibility to not find one or to find a bad one) 

I would recommend to book in a hostel wich is around 20 dollars per person per night (room with Air Conditioning) or you can look for a hotel which is a bit more expensive around 50 dollars per person per night but my advise is to stay in a hostel is almost the same as staying in a hotel or you can go to Peli*aEyes and be there for 200 dollars per night per person

Once you are in your accommodation you can start to enjoy this beautiful place

First of all i would recommend you to take a trip in a boat which is around 80 cordobas (2.70 dollars) per person in this trip you will have a look of all the San Juan del sur bay. I am pretty sure you will enjoy it. Also the guys who are in charge for the boat offer a variety of tours to enjoy like going to fish, knowing hidden parts of the bay and others tours)

(My advice for this trip to San Juan del sur and this trip in the boat and all the trips that you want to make in Nicaragua is to use sunscreen always, light clothes and proper shoes recommendable sneakers keep with you always your waterbottle)

Well once you are done with this trip (the trip on the boat) you must be starving so you can go and buy some seafood in the restaurant near the bay or if you do not like seafood you can buy in the same restaurants other food they have a variety of foods so you will not die because of hunger 

Once you are done with the food i would recommend you to go and relax in your hostel and get ready for the night

Well once the night has reached there. It is time to go and look for something to eat i would recommend  you to go and buy some food from the local people which are called (fritangeros) basically they are out of their house with a kiosk usually and they are selling food for a good price 100 cordobas carne asada o pollo asado (Grilled beer or Grilled chicken) and if you want something to drink you can buy it there but be careful they make the beverages with tap water so if you are not used to this kind of want it is better to buy something like a coke which is really cheap 20 cordobas (70 cents)

Or if you do not want to eat in a Fritanga (Kiosks selling food) you can go and eat in a restaurant which is a bit more expensive around 250 cordobas per food (around 8 dollars) and you can ask for whatever you want (but my advice is to eat in Fritangas)

Once you are done with the food it is time to go and have some beers

Well in this city there are plenties of pubs so you can take a beer all across this city

My advice is to go to Iguana's bar there in that place you can take a beer for 40 cordobas ( around 1.30 dollars) and in that place you can enjoy the time knowing people from all over the world ( but not just Nicaraguan citizens but also international people)

So after you have had a great time in this pub you can have an after party by going to look for some food near this pub just one block northward and then if you still want to continue the party you can take some beers to your dormitory and start drinking (becareful the most part of dormitories do not allow you to make noise after 10 pm or 22)

Well now it is time to sleep and wait for the next day

In the second day you can rent a cuadracycle and go to EL Cristo (which is a statue of Jesus Christ like brasil)  the quad bike fee is 20 dollars for 3 hours and you can use it to go to the statue El Cristo becareful if you are going in a quad bike the climb is quite steep

Once you are in El Cristo you have to pay 4 dollars per person admission fee and you can enjoy the view from EL Cristo which is breathtaking you can take as much pictures as you want

After that you can go to look for food

Once you are done with the food you can go and take a shower in the bay there you can spend all your day it is just absolutely amazing

After that you can go and rest in your accommodation

Once you are done with this place you can look for another place here in San Juan del Sur are many destinations available. Just have a look online
