Only one mile away there are swimming pools, golf courses and the largest artificial lake in Slovenia which offers a lot of opportunities for recreation and water sports. In Ptuj each year at the end of the winter time kurentovanje is going on, where diverse masks are competing from different places, among them local carnival mask Kurent, which is world famous specialty. Kurent began to fight the winter as a demon and he began to call spring in the land.
