My living experience in Belgium

My first real experience abroad, such an eventful trip. Before my trip I saw beautiful pictures of Liege, the wonderful Sunday market, The Carre at night and Gallery St.Lambert. As I was walking down the stairs of the Gare Des Guillmens I couldn't bare the excitement to see my new dorm. During my cab ride to the dorm the cab driver told me that I will be charged extra because we were leaving Liege. I was surprised but still excited to see where I would up. When I finally arrived at my dorm I didnt want to get out of the taxi. The wonderful sight of Liege was gone and I arrived to the old part Seraign. Once I finally had the courage to enter the dorm I was struck with worse news, my room was on the 8th floor and the elevator wasn't working. I managed to make my way up and down 160 steps everyday for about two weeks until move in day.Until then I would be  with only 8 other students in the whole dorm. On move in day I found out that I was placed on the men's floor, meaning we have common bathrooms and showers.

It took two weeks to gain the courage to explore the area and start taking the bus to the City Center. Once school started I made plenty of new friends from all around the world.  The trip that I thought wouldve been the worst trip in my life turned around and is starting to be the best experience of my life. Erasmus made me gain somthing so valuable; having friends from across the globe. Learning new cultures and traveling around is such a beautiful experience no one should ever turn down even if it means sharing the bathroom with 20 other men.
