I am a relatively adventurous eater and when I wet to Kosovo I was ready to try basically any food. The host family that myself and my friend were staying with recommended this one restaurant. Populated primarily by locals but very good and a must try when visiting Pristina.
We weren't told any specific dish to try other than the fampus banana cake for dessert. We went for dinner one night after searching for it we eventually found it but that's why it's a hidden gem because if you aren't looking for it you would walk right past it not even knowing it's there.
Once we found it we went it and it was pretty busy but we got a table and order the egg roll appetizers. My friend ordered the Hawaiian salad which she loved and I simply got a pasta dish with chicken. We also had wine and beer and had an enjoyable dinner.
Sadly when it came to dessert they were all out of the banana cake so we decided to pass on dessert and come back. While we were there the waitstaff was incredibly friendly and spoke great English as neither of us spoke Albanian or Serbian the two main languages of Kosovo besides English.
We went back a week later on our last evening in Kosovo to hopefully get the cake. We walked in and they immediately remembered us and told us they had the cake! We sat down near the fire and ordered dinner my friend got the salad again and I got a chicken curry sandwich and it was incredible! We had wine and beer and enjoyed our dinner and then they brought out two slices of banana cake and It was one of the best things I had tasted in my entire life. I would literally go back just to have that banana cake again!
Our waiter gave us a free round of drinks and we finished everything and said goodbye. Overall if you go to Kosovo you must try Home restaurant and the banana cake!!
