What is it like to live in Petaling Jaya? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I would recommend it. It's cheap to rent an apartment. Also, food is quite reasonable but eating outside is a bit expensive.Especially, the juices and drinks are very expensive. The city is good. less noise, less traffic and friendly people with diverse culture.

What is the student lifestyle like in Petaling Jaya?

study, hang outs and trips. Its fun as well as a bit challenging during exams.

How much does it cost to live in Petaling Jaya?

for rent i think around 1500RM is enough. Then, the food and bills etc would depend but usually that will go to 1000RM. So, to sum up, i think 2500 - 3000RM for a month will be enough.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Petaling Jaya? Is there any advice you can give?

No, many condominiums are there, some are new, the old as well has rooms. It is very easy to find one. Look at mudah.my for accomodation related info.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is good. not that spicy. nasi goreng and nasi lemak are my favourite. Teh tarek for drink.

What places would you recommend visiting in Petaling Jaya?

Sunway mall, mandir etc

Is it good to eat out in Petaling Jaya? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

yes sure. Fish & Co., Syed Bistro, Al Diyafa, Roasters etc

Is the nightlife good in Petaling Jaya? Where is good to go?

it is ok. not that much of a hassle and crowd as compared to KL but still enjoyable.

What advice would you give future students heading to Petaling Jaya?

be a cook before you move in here. Other than that, the city will pretty much take care of it.
