22 year old Greek-American looking for accommodation in Paris

Just found out I will be going to Paris next semester for Erasmus. Very excited but also very worried about finding cheap accommodation. Personally, I think I would prefer finding something small (very small) downtown, instead of a bigger place in the suburbs. I'll probably be out all day, exploring the city and go back home only when necessary.
