it is quite difficult to find accommodation in Paramaribo unless you have family or close friends to help you. it would be better to start looking for accommodation prior to a year.

there is a variety of foods to choose from in Paramaribo from which all of them are a must try. I myself can't choose a favorite. there are many cultures and each have their variety of delicious foods. There are also the well known fast food restaurants like MacDonald, KFC, Subway, Burger King, etc.

first thing to do when you arrive in Paramaribo, Suriname is to write down the three emergency numbers. second thing to do is to fully inform yourself about places you should not go to or be alone when you go. Just stay alert. All the best!
