Erasmus Experience in Panevezys, Lithuania by Zydrunas

Why did you choose to go to Panevezys, Lithuania?

Hello, City Panevezys, Lithuania its nice moustly in the summer time and its many atractions arround. More sad in autum, some times rain and grey, but natura has many colors. City very compact, but its posible to find many atractions and spend good time. Ofcouse need more that some body explain every thing.City have 3 river. One go true city and 2 smaler near (Nevezis, Levuo, Sanzila). City have parks, few cinemas and teatres. Many supermarkets, food stores like Maxima, Iki. City by walk - you can go from end to end maybe in 1.5h. Ofcouse its many local buses and taxi.
City have University and High shools. City its in the center of Lithuania. From Panevezys its samme distance 150 km to capital Vilnius or to Latvia capital Ryga. Around city its many natural forest and nice view of nature. For students leave in my city not so expensive. I never was beafore go somme there from erasmusu, but I think arround 200 euro par 1 month, its Ok. I want go to study by erassmus to Vychy, France study physiotherapy, I was finish physiotherapy this year my medical high shool in Panevezys. If somme body can help me about, I be very happy.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I not sure about. Panevezys its may bith city, I live hier. But place for student Its cost arround 50 euro par month. Scholarship its start from 1st september and end arround 25 june,

Would you recommend the city and the University of Panevezys to other students?

Yes, I be recomend ofcouse.

What is the food like?

Many food and many vaires dishes.
Picas restaurants, Tai bars, Lithuania food restourants and cofe shops.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Panevezys?

University or high school student place cost in the student house arround 50 euro. for renting flat its cost diferent arround from maybe from 50 euro + service (heathing, electrisity and ec.)

How much does it cost to live in Panevezys?

I think for student its arround 200euro par 1 month. I think its Ok.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Moustly english, but I remember in the my medical social works higth school was one girl from Grenoble, France. But I don't know in with language she was study. I was speak with her in French.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Panevezys from your city?

Take Ryanair fly company.
If its from France its fly from Beuvais, Paris, Limoge, Lion, and more fligth points.
Ofcouse need book ticket 1 or 2 month beafore and you can get very cheap fligt but not direct ( need take ticket to UK or Ireland and with samme company to Kaunas, Vilnius or Ryga ( Latvia). If from Paris its somme fligth direct, but with diferent companys.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Panevezys?

On nigth its moustly working disco clubs and somm pubs in weekend (its start from fridays)
Simple days I think pubs or coffe shops working not so late, maybe max till 22:00 pm.
